2025 February Recap

February 2025 at Freshly Cut Stems

Hello, flower lovers and farm enthusiasts! As we wrap up February 2025, we’re excited to share a little recap of everything that’s been buzzing (or blooming!) here at Freshly Cut Stems. If you’ve been following us on Instagram (@freshlycutstems), you’ve caught glimpses of our late-winter adventures. From high tunnel prep to unexpected surprises, this month kept us on our toes. Let’s dive into the highlights!

Kicking Off the Month with High Tunnel Preparations

February started with a mission: getting our high tunnel ready for the spring rush. By mid-month, the first of dianthus and anemones were blooming, and we couldn’t resist sharing those first blooms with you all!

A Surprise Snow Day

Mother Nature threw us a curveball on February 10th when a late-winter snow blanketed the farm.  We bundled up to check on the high tunnel, and thankfully, everything held strong.

Seed Starting Season in Full Swing

By February 15th, we were deep into seed-starting mode. Our Instagram grid lit up with close-ups of soil blocks and delicate sprouts, tagged with #FreshlyCutStems. One fan favorite was a reel showing the step-by-step process of planting lisianthus seeds—tiny specks that promise stunning blooms by summer.

Pruning and Planning

Late February meant it was time to prune our perennial beds and roses. On February 20th, we shared a post on @freshlycutstems of our crew tackling the rose bushes, clippers in hand, It’s hard work, but seeing those neat rows afterward? Pure satisfaction! We also huddled up for a planning session, sketching out this year’s flower rotations—stay tuned for more on that!

Looking Ahead

As February 2025 fades into March, we’re buzzing with excitement for what’s next. The days are getting longer, the soil’s warming up, and those greenhouse babies are growing fast. Keep an eye on @freshlycutstems for updates—we’ve got big plans for new flower varieties and maybe even a workshop or two!

Thanks for following along this month. Your likes, comments, and DMs keep us going, even on the frostiest days.

Until next time,
